What an utterly stupid thing to say.... "I am not a Redding fan there is just something about him I don't like but I don't no wot it is...." ?? He's a 15 year old lad for **** sake !! What's there 'not to like' about him ? He's not a dirty or dangerous rider, he's not being interviewed every week and being disrespectful to other riders, he hasn't developed a reputation like Biaggi for example over the last 15 years for being an obnoxious **** or anything like that. There's nothing to dislike about him any more than there is in the case of Danny Webb or Bradley Smith.
Some t0553rs really do write complete b0110cks on this site.... No really - they do !!

Nori...
who do you think you are to say: "What's there 'not to like' about him ?"
maybe he he doesn't like his facial bone structure???
maybe the way he looks, talks or what ever.
no one said he was:"dirty or dangerous rider"
people sometimes just don't like someone for no reason.
70% of MOTOGP fans dont like Dani coz of his bigmouth maneger!!!
im sure that with time and exposure Redding will collect many more fans.
he defenetly has the speed and kahunas, he needs to mature, have some good luck and show how good he can be. i think that on equal machines he will beat Smith anyday.

Monster Energies opinions are, I guess, as valid as anyone else's, but if you must post threads, for crying out loud, have a dictionary by your side and some idea of English grammar! Perhaps, unbeknown to us, Mr. Redding eats babies or something equally monstrous. If you have a valid reason for your dislike of him, perhaps you would share it with us?

There's something not right here! This ingrained desire to show contempt for a fellow countryman (and a 15yo FFS!) is ludicrous. Is this something you learn in school in the UK? There's no need to blow him kisses or get a picture of him tattooed on your left ar5e cheek, but come on. Maybe he should change his name to Scottonio Reddingio and speak with an eyetie accent!

I wholeheartedly agree bob. There is a section of the u.k that just can't bring itself to support home talent. Its depressing really, F1 is a classic example with Hamilton winning the title and a large section of brits wishing Massa had instead.

sorry to mention F1 my apologies.

Scott Redding deserves to make the cut at least... Think about how many people that Laura Robson beat compared to the amount of people Scott had to beat to win! :D and I have a feeling that a grid of 125cc riders are a touch mroe ruthless than tennis players :)

Still, I look forward to continuing to watch him improve. Hoping for some good results from him in 2009!

You only have to look at the Chair of the panel and then you realise why an Australian Tennis player, and an Olympic Diver who placed 7th at world level, are the ones to go forward. Never mind that Scott is the first Brit in 35 years to actually win a 125 Motorcycle GP since Chas Mortimer won at Spain in 1973 (451 races later), and also set the record of being the youngest ever winner of a GP in only his 8th start. 125 Motorcycle GP's are not the junior version of an adult event. It speaks volumes about who we as a nation, celebrate as our heroes, and doesn't bode too well with the BBC now having exclusive MotoGP transmission rights.

Totally insane decision!!

Having just absorbed the comments, I feel we need to inundate the BBC with positive about moto gp like the supporters of F1 did to get the coverage and recognition it deserves. Scott's achievement deserved the award as his whole years efforts far out weighed that of the other contendors. So get badgering!!!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Scott and have found him to be an ordinary 15 year old who rides a motor bike quite quickly! He's quite shy and devotes himself to his career. Comments about 'not liking him' are nonsense.
I met him in the paddock in Valencia and he was courteous and polite despite the fact that I was interrupting his schedule. Nice guy who I would like to see challenge for the championship next year.
