I think Alonso was jealous about the buzz and media attention Vale generated at that F1 outing, because he then bragged that motorcycle racing was easier than F1 Rossi invited him for a head to head race, one on a bike and one in an F1 car. Alonso didn't take up the gauntlet :p I think he felt threatened by the prospect of Vale entering F1.
I don't know about the difficulty level but racing in WRC on icy roads sometimes inches away from trees, drop offs and ditches seems more dangerous than Formula 1 ...

Now that Loeb and Latvala have talked very positively on Rossi''s performance. I don''t think anyone should have any more doubts on Rossi''s Rallying talents :) Rossi, you''ve done really good. Congratulations and keep it up. Get some good rest to restart the 2009 campaign in Feb and you know how to ''kickstart'' that :p Go Rossi Go!!!!!

Regarding the verdicts I do not think any of the questioned would say that he was doing crap, even if they thought so.
However I think he made a great result, but the outings in F1 have been far more impressive to me.
Maybe rallying is harder than F1 ...

I can just laugh at the amount of people who are disagreeing. So not just us fanboys are saying he did a good job but people who drive WRC cars for a living but they will still stick to their guns and disagree. Go figure. :p

True...the one that does not seems to have any respect for other champions is Alonso.

Bel, People are entitled to their opinions but when the facts regards Vale are so indisputable one can only surmise some people carry a large green giant on their shoulders, in plain english they are jealous!

I think that they couldn't say that vale was crap.. because he WASNT crap!!

Out of approx 60 starters, Rossi came 12th!!!

Now, if my calculations are correct: the above ratio indicates that Vale's result is similar to coming 3rd out of 18 starters.

There's no way someone like Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton or Marcus Gronholm would get anywhere near 3rd in a MotoGP race. Therefore, Rossi has done a superb job

Bravo Vale! Take a bow son!

It''s good to see a champion enjoying different motorsports and not being tied up by contracts. Nice one ROSSI, YOU ROCK & YOU GOT BALLS!!!! :)
