Several credible websites are reporting that John Hopkins has signed a two-year deal with Polini to remain in MotoGP! John will be riding Polini's new VG2.2 turbo charged pocket bike. In a statement released this morning Hopkins said, "I believe this is the opportunity I have been searching for my entire career. While the VG2.2 is underpowered, producing only 2.2hp, I believe I can make up the difference in the turns."
Critics are pointing to Hopkins history of extremely poor decisions and give him absolutely no chance in 2009. Hopkins dismissed these viewpoints, "I've never listened to my critics and I will prevail!"

I've heard that Aspar has been on the phone to Kawasaki for most of the last 2 days, trying to buy the lease of the Kwakas. Hope he suceeds, we need more bikes on the grid, not less. Worrying times...

this year is going to see a lot of changes in all sporting events when it comes to funding.what is sad is motor sport's of all discplines seeming to suffer at present.it must be worrying for a lot of riders/drivers to have to wait for the bean counters to see if they are going to race surely the likes of bernie e.and dorna etc whilst making fat profits should set up slush funds (loans)to help weather the storms helping to savegard future racing and if failing that limit the tech stuff.

Hey Mike,' the undisputed king of ortega highway', why don't you come run with WSMC and stop squidding around on the road?

Maybe you can best some of the time Hopkins set at the big track.

Md Zane,

DesTROYed the motogp field no problem? Before you make such a ridiculous claim, please check Bayliss's Valencia records in both MotoGP and WSB, even Capirossi finished 2nd in that same race! Bayliss had the winning RC211V, where Barros was able to win races with, but couldn't do **** with it. According to his records, all he can win on was a Ducati.

Sorry Md Zane, but that's another ridiculous theory. Sure JB contributes a lot in VR's success, but please don't talk like JB can turn everyone a champion! Maybe you need to look at JB's records too, last I checked, he has teamed up with more than 3 riders in his entire career. And there is no excuse when Barros can win without JB on the same RC211V.
