Although i have attended the GP @ Donington a lot they never have got to grips with adequate access and leaving the place is always a nightmare be it by car or bike.
The facilities for years have been woeful , the standard and cost of on site food frankly criminal so i''ll not mourn it''s loss.
I just hope Silverstone get it right , i''m sure they will have better facilities for getting out after the racing, all they need is the weather.

Not really surprising though when you went b@lls deep with Bernie to get F1 including a £100 million pound development that obviously GP was 'Not Good Enough' for even though they requested improvements in 05 yet still Donny has the most ''outdated'' paddock in europe.

Silverstone has better paddock/facilities and entry/exit pretty much everything except the track which is very flat and not great to spectate at as you cannot see most of it from anywhere. It is a shame and a loss but really Donny''s own fault!!

"Despite the loss of MotoGP, Gillett confirms that Donington Park will now turn its attentions to the World Superbike Championship"

You and me both, Donington.

sO Donington Park owner Simon Gillett is annoyed at losing moto gp to silverstone??? GOOD, is what i say. how many fans have been annoyed over the years? my guess is its in the tens of thousands. for years donington have been ripping off fans with overpriced tickets and granstand seats. i use that term loosely, as any one that have ever been to donnington will know there is nothing grand about the stands. P**s poor facilties coupled with high prices and at least a 3 hour wait to get out of the car park (i have waited nearly 5 hours back in 04), have been doningtons downfall. All of the upgrades that have been granted in the recent planning application, should have been applied for years ago.

MotoGP at Silverstone or WSB at Donnington? I think the later!! More bikes, better racing, better circuit....better coverage on TV.

Don't worry about it Simon, Dorna will come crawling back to you once silverstone dumps the GP which they will probably when Rossi retires, just like they did when Sheene retired, That's if theres even a motogp series then which is by no means certain. Bad decisions are like crack to Carmelo Ezpeleta, he's hooked!

In all the years Motogp has been at Donington the cost of upgrades has amounted to about £45.20p. All of a sudden they can afford a £100 million quid to make Bernie comfortable.
You treat us like **** and then wonder why you got dumped.

Donington deserve to have lost the MotoGP and they now are now in a real mess. The F1 will not move from Silverstone to Donington as they (Donington) will find it very difficult to raise the finance to redevelop the circuit to F1 standards. This leaves a very weakend Bernie Ecclestone having to go back to Silverstone. Ecclestone can not ditch the British F1 as the teams will not stand for it.

I for one go to Motogp at Donington to watch the racing. I dont really care how long it takes to get in or out, because getting 100'000 people in or out of somewhere is never going to be a 5 minute job.

Thats why i get there nice and early, watch ALL the racing (not just the Motogp) have a walk round the circuit and leave. I have done this now for around the last 10 years and have never had any real issues with getting in or leaving the circuit.

I can't believe that now things are looking up for Donington Motogp has upped sticks and gone to Silverstone. £100 million is being spent on Donington which will improve it massively. If it wasn't for a certain #46 motogp would be done for.

Rich- If it wasn't for a certain #46 motogp would be done for?

I fully expect to see MotoGP change the rules for 2010, maybe moving closer to WSBK rules. This may leave WSBK in a weakend position forcing them towards a Superstock formula. The fact remains the MotoGP will always be the stronger premier class and all the nonsense on this forum or in the Motorcyle press claiming the death of MotoGP is just plain wrong.
