Jorge Lorenzo injury update

The latest news following Jorge Lorenzo's huge highside at the end of MotoGP qualifying at Laguna Seca is that the double 2009 race winner is reported to have suffered a partial dislocation of his right collarbone and a bruised right foot.

Lorenzo qualified on pole before his accident, which marked his second heavy fall of the session.

Ducati has also confirmed that fellow title contender Casey Stoner is “OK” after suffering a near identical highside just moments after Lorenzo.

This is apart and separate from his ongoing problems with an unknown illness which saps his strength and leaves him exhausted and sick.

Stoner has qualified third on the grid behind Lorenzo and the Spaniard's Fiat Yamaha team-mate and world championship leader Valentino Rossi.

Rossi currently leads Lorenzo by just five points, with Stoner nine from the top.
