The three-day test marked the debut of the 2008 Yamaha YZR-M1 and the return of world champion Casey Stoner from a shoulder injury sustained at Jerez last November.

Of the provisional 2008 grid, only Team Roberts did not attend the test, although Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa returned to Spain after fracturing his hand on day one.

Pedrosa's team-mate Nicky Hayden leapt to the top on the final day thanks to a qualifying tyre. Fourth fastest Colin Edwards was the highest-ranked rider to set his best test time with a race tyre, just 0.2secs slower than Stoner, who set a scorching time of 2mins 0.964secs on race rubber...
