Yuki Takahashi will attempt to fill the considerable shoes of Andrea Dovizioso at Team Scot in 2009, when the Japanese will be hoping to make a similarly positive impression on the MotoGP paddock.
Takahashi has been a Honda rider throughout his grand prix career, making his debut as a wild-card in the 125cc class in 2001 before further wild-card appearances in the 250cc class between 2002 and 2004.
Yuki took his first grand prix podium with third at Motegi in 2003, and repeated that achievement at Suzuka in 2004, helping earn a full time ride for 2005. 2006 saw Takahashi take his two quarter-litre grand prix victories, but his best championship ranking was fifth in 2008 - when he took three podiums.
