R.I.P. F1!
We have already lost most of the classic circuits now this may be the final nail in the coffin. As much as I love F1 I would rather see the teams stick to their guns that let Max win this one.
On Ferrari needing F1 to sell cars, that simply is not the case. All of the Ferrari owners that I have met are aware of F1 but I would hardly consider them fans of the series. If Ferrari were to run at LeMans and Indy it would create a huge amount of publicity. Probably more publicity than they are getting from on track this year.

Donington can still host 2010 British GP, says Gillett
I think we need to assume that it was if Bernie is to be beleived. Maybe the 7% escalator contributed to Gillet's problem of finding investors. That alone is a real deal killer.

Haug fails to quell Schumacher talk
1 agrees.
1 disagrees.
It really doesn't matter who made the first car. It is not going to change anything. This all started as an example of Mike Lawrence being less than partial in his opinion pieces. I too find Mike Lawrence to be very biased to the point that he appears to have an agenda. Calling what Mike does journalism is a bit of a stretch given his tendency to pass his opinon as fact.

Briatore has 'every confidence' F1 ban will be quashed
1 agrees.
BA - this whole thing was based on one person's testimony. Symonds and Flav still say that it was PK's idea and that they did not order him to crash. Just that a conversation took place. Witness X's testimony is hearsay and it contradicts PK's claim that the meeting took place on Sunday before the race. To predetermine a lifetime ban with so little evidence and so many conflicting statements is not justice. Why is PK more believable than Symonds or Witness X? Someone implied that Flavio could be charged in Singapore. Well so could PK as his immunity is with the FIA not with Singapore. If he gets a ride next year it will be interesting to see what happens when he gets to that race.

@BA - Anyone who sides with Max aspires to be like him to make big money anyway including cheating others. Given the two I would prefer to be more like Flav than Max. Hanging with models on my boat seems better than paying some skank to humiliate me. But to each his own. Next time that you are in the dungeon say hi to Max for us.

Force India F1 confirms di Resta, Hildebrand for Jerez test
I am glad to see that JR Hildebrand is getting a test. He is a very likeable guy and seems to have talent. They did an interview with him before the Indy race at Infineon while flying over the county that he (and I) lives in. He pointed out a landmark, the courthouse where you go when you get a speeding ticket. I thought that was kind of funny. VJ has gotten a lot of flack locally because of his desire to build a private "museum" in Sausalito to house his car collection. It will be closed to the public but apparently he will let some school kids visit to get his tax right off. Since JR is also from Sausalito it is nice that VJ is giving something back to the local community.

@Ayjay - you are assuming that he wants to run a team again. Right now he is probably most concerned with representing his drivers. Which to be fair, preventing him from doing that went way beyond a just punishment. Webber has already stated that he supports Flavio. Shouldn't Webber be able to hire anyone he wants to negotiate his contracts?

Silverstone 'pretty convinced' British Grand Prix is on
@mark turner - based on the quote that you cite, maybe you weren't replying to me. What do you think that the answer is? Personally I think the best thing is to not comply to FOM/CVC's demands. They agreed to their level of debt not the teams, fans, or host nations. If they took on too much dept then let them fail. A flawed business model is not justification for a bailout. Which lets face it, a 17 year deal with an annual increase of 7% is a bailout. The whole sport should not be held hostage because of their poor business decisions.

@mark turner - Bernie holds shares in CVC so the more money CVC makes the more Bernie makes. Now who is being simplistic?

I can understand Flavio being banned from running a team but he should be able to negotiate contracts for his clients. When the FOTA breakaway was looking possible I kind of liked that Flavio would be taking on Bernie's role. There is room for him in F1 just not as a team director.
