Christodoulou, Perera test in Spain

Several new faces are gracing the paddock for the latest round of World Series by Renault testing as a number of teams continue to finalise their driver line-ups just three weeks before the opening race of the season.

As of yet, just 16 drivers have been confirmed to the 26-strong grid in 2009, but 22 drivers have made it out on track for testing in Barcelona.

Amongst those making an appearance at the Circuit de Catalunya is Riki Christodoulou, who has stepped out with Comtec, alongside Anton Nebylitskiy.

In addition, former GP2 and IndyCar driver Franck Perera is testing with Interwetten Racing, the team he made a one-off appearance with during the final round of the 2006 season, scoring a pair of top six finishes on his debut. He is joined in the team by Tobias Hegewald, who is continuing to get experience under his belt before a season of racing in Formula 2.

Having missed out on a seat with Tech 1 Racing, Frankie Provenzano will test for Prema Powerteam this time, while RC Motorsport are making their first appearance this year with former Comtec driver Pasquale di Sabatino.

Epsilon Euskadi, meanwhile, are continuing to test with Adrian Valles and Chris van der Drift and are thought to be close to a deal with the two drivers.

Despite the better attendance though, four drivers are still missing from the test, with reigning champions P1 Motorsport and RC Motorsport arriving in Spain with just a single driver each, while Belgian team KTR are still conspicuous in their absence having failed to appear at all this year.
