Sergey Afanasiev will see out the remainder of the World Series by Renault season with KTR, it has been confirmed.

KTR competed at the Nurburgring with just a single car for teenager Siso Cunill following the resignation of Guillaume Moreau and Danill Move, but will expand back to two machines with the arrival of the Russian.

Afanasiev has minor credits in Formula Renault and the Formula 3 Euroseries, but has enjoyed decent his success this season competing in the Formula Master Championship. Racing for the leading JD Motorsport team and currently eighth in the standings, Afanasiev won a race at Pau earlier this year.

He will join Cunill, who scored points on his debut for the Belgian team, at the remaining rounds in Le Mans, Estoril and Barcelona.
