Macau winner heads driver changes

Kaisuke Kunimoto, the surprise winner of the 2008 Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix, is to make his European racing debut at the Nurburgring when he joins the latest round of the World Series by Renault.

Little-known Kunimoto caused a stir at the renowned street race towards the end of 2008 when he beat British and European all comers to join a list of illustrious names who have all won around the infamous street circuit.

Backed by Toyota, although Kunimoto has remained in Japan to compete in the Formula Nippon series this season, he will switch to the World Series with Epsilon Euskadi in order to gather some experience of competing on European ground.

He will race alongside Chris van der Drift for the final two rounds of the year at the Nurburgring and Motorland Aragon.

Elsewhere, Salvador Duran makes his first racing appearance since the end of the 2008/09 A1GP season after rejoining Interwetten Racing, the team with which he competed in 2007 and 2008. He pairs up Romanian driver Mihai Marinescu after Adrian Zaugg's funds ran dry.

Over at Tech 1 Racing, Brendon Hartley, fresh from his maiden Formula 3 Euroseries win with Carlin Motorsport, will see out the season with the reigning team champions.
