HSV Dealer Team V8 Supercar stars Rick Kelly and Paul Dumbrell were named official ambassadors of Movember last night, a charity event aimed at raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer and male depression.

For the month of November, Kelly and Dumbrell will unite as 'Mo Bro's', growing a 'Mo' in the hope of helping transform men's health and with the aim of promoting public and private discussion about prostate cancer and male depression.

2008 is the fifth consecutive year of Movember and in 2007 96,000 Mo Bros & Sistas in Australia raised over $15million.

“It is great to be a part of Movember this year. Being a V8 Supercar driver gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of men's health amongst our male supporters.” Kelly said.

“We can also encourage our female fans to support their male family and friends to talk about these important issues.”

Co-driver Paul Dumbrell was equally as enthusiastic about becoming involved in the event.

“I have participated in Movember before, but becoming an official ambassador means I will be taking my facial hair growth very seriously,” he said.

As well as participating in Movember by growing a Mo, Kelly and Dumbrell will also embark on a fundraising mission, encouraging their fans and the wider public to contribute to the cause and support them through Movember.

Both the #15 and #16 HSV Dealer Team Commodores will feature the Movember Ambassador corporate logo.

As sponsor of the HSV Dealer Team, management and staff at Holden Special Vehicles will also embrace the Mo to help support Kelly and Dumbrell during Movember.

HSV will be encouraging their staff members to join Kelly and Dumbrell in the fight to build awareness of the event and most importantly, raise money for the cause.
