Fujitsu hope for Bright display

Jason Bright says he is confident of building on a top ten performance at Bathurst as the V8 Supercar Championship heads to the Gold Coast this weekend for the Nikon Indy 300 race weekend.

The Coffee Club V8 Challenge will run alongside the non-championship IndyCar Series event, with three sprint races over the course of the weekend.

Buoyed by his ninth-place run alongside Adam Macrow at the Mountain, Bright said he was confident that the Fujitsu Falcon will be on the pace at Indy.

“Bathurst was a very good run and we believe we have the package for another strong performance at Indy,” he said. “We have a very good handle on the chassis and we have made some gains in the engine department. Plus we have always had a good brake package which is vital at Surfers Paradise.

“Indy is tough, as I found out last year when an incident in practice put us on the back-foot before an accident in the opening race ended our weekend early.

“Our Bathurst performance has lifted everyone on the team and it would be great to pay-back all that hard work with a top-five run. The key is to keep it clean and steer well away from all those concrete walls!”
