V8 » Villeneuve targeted for V8 seat

I have to admit to a bit of concern. As much as I still like JV, as a driver his best is behind him. Look at Le Mans last year for starters: he was miles slower than the rest of the drivers in the team, not just in his own car. It'd be a real shame to see him running around at the back of the V8 grid with the rookies...

I hope I'm proven wrong - because I'd love to see JV come Down Under...

Perhaps, but the car still finished 2nd. only because the Audi was quicker in the wet,13hrs. worth. He qualied quickest, His team in 07. Don't get Me wrong, I luv Aussie V8s. Might even encourage TSN to broadcast some of the Races here, still wrong place, wrong time. I hope this is just another nasty offseason rumour

Man I hope this is true. I'm not sure I can trust Paul Morris but he has been keeping the second seat fairly guarded until now. I was a fan of JV back when he was Damon's team mate at Williams. Although, I was a bigger fan of Damon. I'd like to see him and other ex-F1 drivers join the V8s as it is a fantastic world class series.

I would like to see JV come down under to race the V8s, I would even watch the entire series instead of a few races. I would even settle to see him race at bathurst.

I hope he does do it, because I will laugh every time he fails. I've never rated JV as a driver, he won the champ in '97 because he had the best car. A monkey could have won the championship in that car. He achieved nothing after he won the championship, because his car wasn't good enough to overcome his lack of talent.

I agree with adam JV isn't that good. yes he was champion in F1 but he had the best car by a mile. Schumacher was able to challenge him in a worse car. So i've never rated JV and he would struggle in the V8 supercars
