Walkinshaw Racing will pair its two leading lights together for the forthcoming V8 Supercar endurance races at Phillip Island and Bathurst, it has been confirmed.

Championship contenders Garth Tander and Will Davison will team up in one Toll Holden Racing Team Commodore, while Paul Dumbrell and Craig Baird will take the wheel of the second Toll HRT car, leaving Steve Owen and Shane Price to join forces in the #10 Team Autobarn machine and rookie David Reynolds to team up with three-time World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx in the Bundaberg Red entry.

CEO of Walkinshaw Racing Craig Wilson claimed the combination gives the organisation four cars capable of finishing in the top ten at the most critical time of the year.

“We have finalised these pairings following testing earlier this week at Winton – it's a blend of championship contenders, experience and youth and we believe will hold us in good stead for the endurance rounds,” Wilson said, before expressing optimism that pairing of Davison and Tander, who currently sit second and third in the championship respectively, would challenge strongly for this year's Bathurst crown.

“They have worked hard all year and this was particularly noticeable at Sandown, where both drivers put in dominant performances,” he said, “However, we expect our other pairings to also perform strongly. Paul Dumbrell has always driven well at Bathurst and David Reynolds will benefit enormously from the experience of being paired with such an experienced driver in Andy Priaulx.”
