Sprint Gas Racing has announced that Jeff Grech is to leave his position as sporting director with immediate effect.

Grech will leave his position on the back of the team's fourth place finish at Bathurst to focus on business interests outside motorsport.

His role at the team will be taken on by engineering manager Mike Henry – who had been Grech's understudy - for the remainder of the season.

“Jeff has done an excellent job,” team co-owner Tim Miles said. “During his time he has built up the manufacturing side of the business enabling us to build our own cars.

“He has also brought together a very talented, professional group of people that have gelled into one of the best pit crews in pit lane.

“It is very disappointing to see Jeff leave at this stage of the season, particularly after the success at Bathurst, but we wish him well as he focuses on life away from the race track.”
