Coronel becomes Valvoline brand ambassador
21 March 2013
Flying Dutchman and WTCC frontrunner Tom Coronel has signed a 'multi-year' sponsorship and brand ambassadorial deal with American oil giants Valvoline.
As part of the deal, Coronel will run with a Valvoline-branded ROAL Motorsport BMW 320 TC alongside his other personal and team sponsors and will use Valvoline products in every race for 2013.
“The sponsorship agreement with Tom Coronel of ROAL Motorsport BMW race team is a logical expansion, increasing Valvoline's brand exposure and association with a driver that has a long track record of top racing performance,” Roger Van Vlijmen, head of Valvoline marketing for Europe, commented.
Two-time FIA WTCC Independent champion Coronel says he is now 'even more driven' to win races and challenge for the championship having landed Valvoline's backing.
"I have known the Valvoline name for a long time and we share the same passion for motorsports," he claimed, "Valvoline is a brand with a rich heritage within motorsports, having competed in several world championships. Having the Valvoline brand as a partner gives me even more drive to be more successful and compete for the World Championship with the FIA WTCC.”
Coronel, ROAL and Valvoline will kick-off their WTCC campaign at Monza this weekend.
