"We're very pleased to get our all-new car to the finish of this event, which was our main objective here. Today's hydraulic problem was a small inconvenience, but it is all part of the process of testing. This experience has taught us a lot, and we now have several ideas about how we will work on fine-tuning the development of our car."
Matthieu Bonardel [BFGoodrich - rally manager]:
"Despite the new, wider roads visited this weekend compared with previous years, this year's Tour de Corse was hard-wearing on the tyres and indeed the most hardest-wearing asphalt rally of the season. Furthermore, the fine weather over the three days made the quota question difficult. Although the medium compound was ideally suited to the morning stages, the switch to a '2+' compound for the afternoon was necessary as temperatures climbed. Sébastien Loeb used two versions of the g-Force Profiler 2+ made available this weekend by BFGoodrich and posted fastest times with both of them, including some at average speeds of almost 110kph which says a great deal about their potential."
Didier Martin [BF Goodrich – tyre technician with SWRT]:
“It was a good fight between Petter and Francois Duval on the first two days, and it is good to see that the Subaru Impreza WRC2007 and BFGoodrich are capable of fighting. Maybe a set of harder compound tyres this morning would have been better as the high temperatures were tough on the tyres on the two long stages, but it is good to see positive progress.”
