Henning: I did best job I could

Stobart Ford's Henning Solberg has said that he was more than happy with his performance on the recent Rallye de France-Tour de Corse - especially given he has so little experience on asphalt.

Although the Norwegian was unable to add to his own personal score in Corsica, he did managed to finish comfortably in the top ten, picking up two manufacturers' points after bringing his Focus RS WRC car home in ninth position.

Speaking at the finish he noted that he 'pleased' to have got through all three-days of the event without making a big mistake.

He did concede though that he will definitely feel more at ease on next event in Japan, when the WRC returns to gravel.

"The most important thing for me on this event was to finish and get the experience of both the stages and the asphalt surface," he reflected. "This was a new rally for me and I needed to finish; this is exactly what I have done.

"I have learnt so much in the last two weekends about driving on asphalt, my driving style and how my car should feel on these stages.

"Realistically this is the best job I could have done as I have completed all the stages and without any problems with the car.

"Both myself and Jari-Matti [Latvalaa] have scored more points here for the Stobart team and this is also important for me; being consistent and scoring points."

Ford / M-Sport team boss, Malcolm Wilson meanwhile described Henning's drives in Corsica and Catalunya as 'solid'.
