NEWS FLASH: Henning out.

Stobart Ford's Henning Solberg has retired from leg 1 of the Rally Ireland after going off the road in SS8.

Henning, who had been running sixth overall – around 20 seconds off his brother, Petter in fifth, crashed into a tree in the 22.25 kilometre-run through Glenboy. He was unable to continue.

Henning is the third 'works' retirement of the day, joining BP Ford's Marcus Gronholm and Subaru's Xavier Pons, who both went out in SS4, on the sidelines.

More information to follow as we get it...
