Stobart Ford's Jari-Matti Latvala put his day 1 woes firmly behind him on Saturday, as he dominated the time-sheets of the Wales Rally GB, winning every single forest stage.

The 22-year-old was simply in a class of his own and he drove faultlessly throughout the day showing a level head despite retiring on the final stage on Friday with a dysfunctional wiper-blade.

The Finn, who almost doubled his total WRC career stage-win count, now sits less than one minute from a top-ten position and maintains a point scoring position in the manufacturers' championship.

“It has been a great feeling today. The car has done everything it is designed to do and the tyres were perfect so I can't ask for much more,” he stated.

“It is disappointing about yesterday but these things happen and it is good to get back out today and important to get a good balance with the car for future events.

“It was definitely an advantage being third on the road here as the grip levels were good and the road conditions more pleasant. I have just been very relaxed today and had no big moments as I have had no reason to push hard so to produce these times is a great feeling.

“I will try and keep the same feeling tomorrow and see if we can keep it going.”

M-Sport boss, Malcolm Wilson meanwhile was definitely impressed and reckoned Jari would have overhauled Sebastien Loeb and been in third if he hadn't had his problems on Friday.

“Sensation of the day has been Jari, fastest on all the gravel stages is a great performance and it really sends out a message as to where he would have been without his problems from yesterday,” Wilson concluded.
