Czech Rally Team Kopecky manager, Josef Kopecky meanwhile is convinced that the programme has been a success and he was happy to see Jan score this year not only on asphalt but also on the snow in Norway and on gravel in Greece.
"I am very happy with this year's participation in the World Rally Championship. We have been able to turn our participation into a points finish five times. Jan and Filip have earned a fantastic fifth place and scored in winter conditions and on typical gravel rallies. They clearly proved that they belong in the WRC," he added.
"Our two year programme with a car in the highest specification was successful and the earned experiences among the world's best teams and crews are a huge benefit for the future.
"I am of course greatly thankful to all partners and especially Škoda Auto a.s. In closing it must be mentioned that the top performance in extremely demanding conditions was turned in by the entire Czech Rally Team Kopecký. Behind each kilometre driven there hides an enormous amount of careful work by the mechanics and technicians."
What Jan will do in 2008 remains to be seen - although, a move to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, where he is tipped to drive the all-new Skoda Fabia Super 2000, is one possibility.
