The Suzuki World Rally Team has revealed that it will announce its driver line-up for 2008 on Monday, December 17.

Confirmation was due today [Friday, December 14], however Hirotaka Ono, Board member of the Suzuki Motor Corporation and in charge of the European market, passed away on Thursday night and as such the announcement was postponed as a mark of respect.

A number of drivers' are thought to be in the running to drive the all-new Suzuki SX4 WRC car in 2008 - including ex-Ford and ex-Skoda works driver, Toni Gardemeister, as well as Francois Duval and current SX4 WRC testers, Nicolas Bernardi and Sebastian Lindholm, who drove the car in Corsica and GB respectively.

Per-Gunnar Andersson, who won the Junior Rally Championship twice with Suzuki, is also thought to be a possibility.

The team will issue its release at 9am CET on Monday.
