The Munchi's Ford World Rally Team has confirmed that it will continue to compete in the FIA World Rally Championship this year.
The outfit will begin its second season in Mexico at the end of February, the third round in the WRC, taking in ten events in total – just like in 2007.
In addition to Mexico the Munchi's squad is also due to compete in Argentina, Jordan, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Finland, New Zealand, Catalunya and Japan, skipping the events in Germany, France and GB, as well as Monte Carlo and Sweden.
Federico Villagra, who replaced Juan Pablo Raies last season and did seven events with the Munchi's squad, will do all ten rounds, while Luis-Perez Companc is currently down to do just three events - namely Argentina, Jordan and Finland.
Who will partner Villagra on the other seven events has yet to be confirmed. It is expected that this will be announced on 'an ongoing basis' throughout the year, with a number of drivers having already been rumoured to be in the frame, including 2007 Fiesta Sporting Trophy International champion, Barry Clark.
A spokesperson for the Munchi's squad told
Crash.net that an official release should be put out in the next week or so.
More to follow then...
