Loeb clips marshal on Monte

Citroen number one driver Sebastien Loeb almost hit a marshal last weekend on the Rallye Monte Carlo en-route to securing a record fifth win in succession.

Footage of the incident has appeared on YouTube and it shows the Frenchman 'lightly' clip a marshal with his Citroen C4 WRC car as he negotiates one of the stages at high speed.

"Someone told me about the video, where I brushed past a policeman. I had seen him from a distance, but hey, he did not hurry to cross the road! At no time did I think I was going to hit him," Seb apparently told his personal website.

"We tend to skim the walls to within 5 cm, and I can tell you that we skimmed him! It is true that it looks impressive on the video."

To see the footage go to YouTube.com and type in 'loeb, monte' – it is currently located right at the bottom of page one.
