Tirabassi: Events with SWRT a good experience

Brice Tirabassi has said that he enjoyed his recent two outings with the Subaru World Rally Team, even if his run on his home event in Corsica at the weekend did end prematurely.

Tirabassi, who finished tenth on his debut in the Impreza WRC2008 in Spain, struggled a bit on the first two days of the Rallye de France-Tour de Corse.

But despite that he still went into Sunday's action in eighth and on course for the final drivers' point, 7.3 seconds up on Stobart Ford's Matthew Wilson.

While the 2003 Junior World Rally champion saw his advantage cut to 4.3 seconds in SS13 on Sunday, he held onto P8.

In the next test, however, disaster struck when a technical problem forced him out.

Nevertheless, though, Tirabassi was pleased with his stint in the 'third' car alongside regular drivers, Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson.

"The car was much better this morning but for me it's been hard to get a proper feeling this weekend. We made some changes last night and it was possible to speed up on the stages this morning. I was much happier," he noted.

"Then on the second stage after 9km we got a warning alarm in the car and after a few seconds the engine just stopped. It was not possible to restart the car. For sure it's very disappointing.

"But for me it's been a very good experience in Spain and Corsica and I am very happy. I enjoyed it a lot.

"Yes it's been difficult, but it's a rally so this can happen. I have a big smile and I am very happy with the team and the car. It's been very good experience and to drive a Subaru on these two rounds, especially on my home event, has been very good for me."
