Henning Solberg close to inking deal for '09?

Henning Solberg has confirmed that he is likely to compete in all twelve rounds of the World Rally Championship next season.

The Norwegian, who is just coming to the end of his current two-year deal with Ford, added though that an announcement won't be made until after next week's season ending Wales Rally GB.

Speaking to teamexpert.no, Henning added that his main priority now is to be able to fight for wins and podiums.

"I am in talks with Expert [my main sponsor] about how we got forward," he explained. "I am not lying when I say that I will be able to do all the events [in 2009].

"The main thing is that I have the optimum package so that I can fight for wins.

"The team that I drive for needs to have a plan. I need to be able to test and adjust the set-up of the car to suit my style."

Henning has been linked to Subaru 'B' team, the Adapta World Rally Team recently, and it is thought he could compete in a Subaru Impreza WRC 2008 alongside Mads Ostberg next year.

Whether there is any truth to that remains to be seen, as Ford and Citroen are also understood to be possibilities.

Furthermore given the current form of the Impreza it is unclear why he would want to switch to it from the Focus.

More to follow as and when it develops...
