IRC: Abarth boosted by pre-Monte test

The Abarth team will hope for a strong start to the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge season on the back of a successful test in the South of France.

The test was held on roads similar to those that will play host to Rally Monte Carlo as the team worked on some new components and the latest evolutions fitted to the Grande Punto.

Abarth finished the 2008 season strongly, with Giandomenico Basso securing two wins late in the season.

He will now look to fight for the title during 2009 and will be joined on the Monte Carlo event by reigning European Champion Luca Rossetti, who is also due to contest selected IRC events later in the year.
