Prodrive has revealed the Subaru Impreza WRC2008 that will be used by Marcus Gronholm for his entry into the Rally of Portugal

The two-time World Rally Champion will come out of retirement for the event having retired from full-time competition at the end of the 2007 season, and will take part in a day long test session in Wales in the Prodrive test car before heading to Spain for two further days of running next week.

The Portuguese outing will mark Gronholm's first appearance in some 16 months in the WRC with the car being entered under the Prodrive name and run from the same service area as the Prodrive-supported Adapta World Rally Team.

“We have only been able to make minor changes to the car because of homologation restrictions, with the most significant difference being the Ohlins dampers,” Prodrive technical director, David Lapworth said. “In a perfect world, Marcus would have had far more time behind the wheel. However, with his years of experience, I am absolutely confident he will very quickly find a rhythm in the Impreza.”
