PWRC: Sandell set for four-way fight

Patrik Sandell gets set for a four-way battle in the final round of the Production World Rally Championship
While Armindo Araujo has already wrapped up the PWRC title, the fight for second place will go into the season finale in Wales with Red Bull's Patrik Sandell insisting he is fully focused on securing the runner-up slot.

Sandell, who led the championship earlier in the year, currently lies fourth in the standings bit is just three points behind Nasser Al-Attiyah and a point away from Martin Prokop. Eyvind Brynildsen also retains a slender chance of stealing the victory.

Ahead of the event, Sandell completed a day of testing of his Red Bull Rally Team Skoda Fabia in Austria in conditions similar to those expected in Wales and he said he was ready to fight for a victory which could give him second place.

“The test day was very important for me,” he said, “on the one hand because the surface conditions really were identical, on the other because every kilometre in the car is very important. I'm very much looking forward to the finale, and I hope that we'll have a little bit of luck this time.

“In any case we're going to attack from the very start, we want to claim the third win of the season for the Red Bull Rally Team. If we manage to do that the runner-up spot in the PWRC should also be a certainty.”
