The protest has been made by the Athletes and not by Mr Dimis Kakoyiannis. Protest has not been made by hooligans as you mention in this article, but by the athletes which the organizer refuse to accept their entries, because, according what the organizer says these athletes are participating in NON AUTHORIZED EVENTS AND ILLEGAL EVENTS. The events which are these athletes are participating ARE APPROVE by Cyprus Goverment through the Cyprus Sports Organization which is highest Sport Authority in Cyprus.Is the only body can call any Event authorised or non authorized or illegal. These clarification has been sent to the organizers in writing by the KOA - CSO (Cyprus Sports Organization)

I will like to mention more, that if they were hooligans, why these athletes has not been arrested by the Police or charged by anyway for their protest??? Just to inform you that, what ever these athletes did in the 1st Stage has been agreed from before with the Police and for whatever happen in the second stage has not been made by us. It is a time that or people involve in this subject , that includes also FIA, to solve this promplem and the organizers not to use this event and trying to get somehow a legal status which they dont have. It is now 6 years we are facing this promplem and we already reach "the end of the road". We hope that everybody will realize that & solution must be given

The organizers of the Cyprus Rally, refused to allow these athletes because they say that they are participating in NON AUTHORIZED EVENTS AND ILLEGAL EVENTS but on the other hand they are accepting Entries from the Turkish Cypriots which are participating in the North occupied by the Turkey area.
