I knew Tony from his Dealer Opel Team days when we did some development work for the team. Although me and my team mate hadn't met up with Tony for many years, we met again at the Chatsworth Rally show a couple of months ago where he was competing in the Datsun 240Z, and he hadn't changed a bit, and we enjoyed an amusing half hour or so in his company chatting about old times, so much so that we are coming out of retirement next season to compete in the Historic Rally Championship.
The death of Tony is a sad loss, not only to the sport, but, of course, to his family, and I wish to pass on my condolences to them. RIP Tony, a true British character and rallying great.

Like many others in rallying, I have had the pleasure of knowing Tony since he started competing at National and International level in the early 60's. With Tony, 'what you saw was what you got' and his Yorkshire background of straightforwardness, plain speaking and humour were always there.
Not just an really good driver, but a really good bloke as well.
I'm sure all our thoughts go out to Pat and the rest of Tony's family at this time.
Rest in peace, Tony, you will be fondly remembered by very many.

My father - the late Michael Wensley and Tony first met both working for Appleyards, Bradford in 1960, and Pat & Tony Fall became very close family friends. Ann, Debbie, Nicholas, Johnathan and I are so deeply shocked and very saddened by his passing, our deepest sympathy's go to Pat, Richard, Oliver, and his grandchildren.
