Rubbish... it happens in other racing as well... 125GP bikes for example... no one wants to lead the last lap because they will be the one everyone drafts off and passes

Everyone seems to be deciding that racing is just about going fast and thats all that is important... thats only part of it... tactics play a BIG part in racing, especially "long distance" events

... and despite his arrogance and saying he wouldn't Loeb would do EXACTLY the same thing if he was certain he would get an advantage from it

This is a joke. This is clearly on a par (if not worse) than the "Team Orders" fiasco F1 suffered under Schumi/Barrichelo. Imagine if a situation like this arose at an F1 race - there would be outrage. The FIA needs to sort this out soon, otherwise the championship could be decided by how slow your dare go on day 1 rather than how fast you are over a full rally.

i seem to remember something similar happening at Silverstone 2004? i think, in first qualifying there was blatant slowing down, spins, etc so as to go first in the second qualifying to achieve a dry lap time, and both the minardis went quickest in first qualifying! lol

its a case of sour grapes..

if your successful - your gonna get hit with the punishment.. do you see touring car drivers slowing down to lose ballast for the following race? no.

Tactics will always exist - its down to the teams to use them correctly

"Just a Fan" If you read the report again Loeb said he WOULD have done the same.

"It's not nice to clean the road, but I think if you look at the tactics it's really good [how it worked for Ford]. They are first and second [at the finish]. The regulation is not completely right though," said the four-time world champion, who admitted on Friday he would have done the same had he been in that same position.

It's no longer just about sport or the fastest driver who can keep it all together wins, it is money - spectator appeal, sponsorship dollars, etc. If we want to see motor sport on TV, and on line, we have to accept these "tactic driven" rules ...

It's wrong because he didn't win. Do you think he will call it wrong if he won by using the same tactic?

All's fair in love and war.
Lets face facts Seb is the best driver whilst Ford is the best car

It's nothing new. I remember in Australia 2000 many drivers slowed down or stopped before the time control (or in Carlos Sainz's case inside the time control and subsequently DQed) to do the exact same thing. Richard Burns said exactly what Loeb has said.

It is a joke...the whole WRC is a joke right now...but on this, Wilson of Ford said it was wrong but it's what you have to do right now to win - they did it but didn't like it. In the same situation, Citoen would have done the same but not liked it.

This was done in the past and the rules were changed to prevent it...now they change it back and all it causes is controversy. This isn't F1, this actually has to survive on what happens in the stages.

But when things like punctures, and tactics like this are constantly deciding rallies when there is the technology and possible rules to prevent this, it is a joke...
