Rubbish... it happens in other racing as well... 125GP bikes for example... no one wants to lead the last lap because they will be the one everyone drafts off and passes

Everyone seems to be deciding that racing is just about going fast and thats all that is important... thats only part of it... tactics play a BIG part in racing, especially "long distance" events

... and despite his arrogance and saying he wouldn't Loeb would do EXACTLY the same thing if he was certain he would get an advantage from it

What i would like to know is why none of you caused this uproar when the fords slowed in jordan to make Sordo sweep the road clear?? I would suggest it is because you are all Loeb fans and just didnt like him not winning. Article taken from another site.

Latvala and fellow Finn Hirvonen overhauled Sordo on the road on Saturday but deliberately slowed in the final stage to fall back and ensure they did not have the disadvantage of running first on Sunday, the longest day of the event.

The leader has the tough task of acting as roadsweeper, clearing the slippery loose gravel from the tracks to give those behind a cleaner and faster surface.

Im a subaru fan so im not bias.

I think its good that loeb is as good as he is, it raises everyones game and makes them work harder to beat him and Citroen, I think Jari Matti is just coming of age and will next year have more experience and consistency which will enable him to beat Seb more often than not. It was an exciting Rally Turkey I thought, no one can blame Ford, they were only exploiting the stupid rules that we have in WRC right now. I think the rules need to change to protect our fantastic sport from things like this. I also hope Subaru go ahead with their B team next year like Fords Stobart, that would be great for the sport too and help it grow. Its just a pitty Suzuki are still having problems.

Bravo for Ford. Seb is an excellent driver and has had the best car in the series for at least 4 years. With the retirement of Gronholm there's really no driver his equal. WRC has become as boring as the Schumacher/Ferrari days and I'm glad to see anything that shakes up the finishing order.

1. Loeb has had the opportunity to do the same this year - and hasn't.

2. But the rules are more to blame than Ford, at least in the cases of Hirvonen and Latvala.

3. But I think to use the other Fords was scuzzy. A bit like Ferrari using Toro Rosso or Renault using Red Bull.

4. It's ridiculous - but to be expected - that the writer of the article and some commenters here are completely misrepresenting Seb's measured remarks. What's happening to Crash?

The difference with this and team orders in F1 is that team orders are illegal and his is not. Simple really.

They shouldn't have changed the rule where the top 15 or something were reversed in running order. Or maybe they could do some kind of random draw like the BTCC do when deciding the race three reverse grid. That would make things a little fairer maybe.

H&M knocked the nail on the head. Citröen are just spitting out the dummy. They didn't take advantage of a 'loophole' like Ford (and others in the past) did. If they had, and won the event, they wouldn't be complaining.

What sad losers!

So in footie no one has ever thrown the game by falling over holding their ankle until the "Magic Sponge" comes on when they are awarded a penalty??

I for one really enjoyed watching the coveridge this weekend. Even after Jari had a flat he still fought his way to 2nd. Well done Gents. Loeb said he would do the same so there is your proof.

Loeb lost by 25 seconds and yet he lost 13 in one stage alone. I dont really think Loeb would have won if the Ford duo had not done that anyway. the Ford guys were on top form.

Yeah he agreed he would do it to, not that he needs to half the time. however it ruins the spectacle when a rally car literaly stops for 20secs in the middle of a stage and then goes at minimal pace. it doesn't campare with any tatics in circuit racing, holding off the overtake to get the run down the straight. What happened to "maximum attack" on every corner of every stage. why was the rule of swapping the top 8 running order removed? no one wants to see tactics in rallying, that's not what it's about.

Never heard mister Loeb complain when he had to start first in wet conditions, wich happend quite often..and...I seem to remember in the early '90 drivers deliberatly slowed down also in order to get a good staring order the next day..When Colin McRae won his first in the Legacy, Francois Delecour slowed down the day before...When it's not against the rules, then it's ok..Citroen uses tactics too..
