Well, as you can tell, im WRC all the way. You probably right in what you say but that is only because of the FIA and their constant blundering, bit like the government really.

I really dont understand why F1 is so popular. Im a motorcyclist myself but dont see the interest in moto gp either. The skill involved in WRC is far greater than in the other 2 as far as im concerned, the ability to slide a car at 100mph surely is more difficult than driving around a bend at 150 with grip from huge tyres and massive air aids.

I think the WRC is faced with a Catch 22 in that:
It needs more manufacturers to bring in more interest from sponsors, viewers, spectators, and so on, while at the same time it needs that increased interest from those groups to lure more manufacturers to the sport. Appointing a global promoter is just one small cog. You would think that from a manufacturer's perspective, the WRC would provide one of the best stages to show off their vehicles, as these are machines that people can walk into a show room and see, like the BTCC & WTCC. I'm with WRC for me - I'd much rather watch a 3-day race in every condition imaginable with a bunch of very likeable drivers. Seb's too good, though.

You are taking the P*** right-more skill to driving a car yeah right-I suppose that's
why we so many- ahem- gents of a certain age driving in rallies.No interest in GP's

Make WRC bigger than MotoGp-get the men with the white coats- they are joking right ??
If it ever was going to be "big" it would have done so a long time ago.

The FIA + Bernie makes too much money from F1 and wants it to stay that way, at the top, they will not want the WRC to overtake that status. They tried to make WRC into an elitist sport too to make money from it, and applying F1 rules/formatting, but rallying is a different so it doesn't work. For example, manufacturer teams having to compete in a minimal total number of events and not one off. The result is making the sport more expensive and difficult for private talents to compete.

Also that idiot Nazir Hoosein, the steward of current WRC, has to go.

i agree that rallying involves a lot more personal skill than F1. however it has been ruined over the last few years. it is not a TV sport nor is it a spectator sport. one blink and it has passed! it is a participant sport but the works input has ruined it. when a new car can be built during the event and compete the following day, just drives away the other participants. Wilson is wrong, as a viewing sport, it could NEVER compete with the roundy-roundy races. but to compete is sheer bliss, when you are competing with equals.
