How about Subaru getting their **** together before talking about running a third car. Any up and coming driver with half a brain would keep clear of the under preforming Subaru that is being presented on the WRC stages at present. I think the Japanese boys at Subaru would like to see some return on the 60 million pounds it gives Prodrive to run it cars, change is in the wind.

WRC » Subaru: Still our wish to run third car in 09

Times may be tough, but Subaru are still keen to run a third car next season in the World Rally Championship.

I totally agree with The Stig , they need to be fighting for wins on a regular basis before they go and dilute their resources by adding a 3rd car.

'binza' - there is a counter argument to what you say... i.e. that running a third car will help the team by giving them more data and additional feedback. I'm not saying that is necessarily the case - but it is worth bearing in mind. A third driver will no doubt help the team financially too...

I'd like to see the boys fighting for wins, but ultimately I'd rather have more cars running than less. Suzuki is pretty slow, but I'm delighted that they are out there trying. I'm happy when some privateer shows up with an old Puegot as well.

Besides, Atkinson had a pretty good year. After Latvala stuffs himself into a tree in GB, Chris will be 4th overall.

I agree with Grant.
and only i will add that running a 3rd car will help to evaluate a replacement driver to Petter Solberg who is not motivated to do the job and who has shown a big weakness in setting up his car. Additional to that is that he is not making Subaru good reputation by his grumpy mood after the stages.

If Marcus would take the job, or Sebastien after his 2009 contract expiration. They are better in setting up the car

I think Petter has for what ever reason had some difficulties over the past few seasons, sure, the car has not been good since 2004/2005. I felt back then that DR was taking his eye off the ball with his alternative commitments, also with DL stepping away from being Cheif technical director, the result I thought was going to be obvious. I would however like to see them run 3 cars though, they just have to start getting things right, including driver selection, Pons was a complete waste of money, and Tiribassi was a questionable choice too. There are better more advanced drivers out there, two of which are Brits in Meeke and Wilks. They need to really turn a corner, and Fast too !!
