This is the one to judge Matt on. level palying field, if anything Matt has an advantage as Scott has been in Poland with Barry Clarke before. Thinks he needs to get a steady 4th and a few fastest times to have any hope of silencing the critics. Cant understand why daddy doesnt go "right Matt go b.alls out on the next stage and see how you go" and then we could see what hes like, or is the current pace b.alls out already ??? Dafydt - youre response awaits!!!!

Also with 3-time Polish champion Krzysztof Holowczyc added the Stobart line-up there can be no set-up problems for Matt to complain about. Surely this has to be make or break. Bet he doesn't get anywhere near troubling the podium though.

Yeh I think your right to a certain degree.

I think Malcolm has to not only be giving matt some Slack in the reigns, but helping him fine tune his performances and approach to Rallies and encourage him to push himself.

He has had to much grief for to long, now he has to push so people can see some performance gains.

I think he has a good level of experience, now would be a good time to start sticking his neck out for better results. 4th would be a cracking result, his fastest times in Greece proved he has pace.

He just needs to let his guard down and push.

By the way, I think Meeke is doing Fantastic, winning in Belgium isnt easy, its hard to find a good rythum on those roads.

Dafydd, agree with you regarding Kris Meeke. Fantastic result at Ypres, looking good for the IRC championship.

Disagree with you regarding Matt. I don't think they are holding him back, or that he's pacing himself, I think he's just far too slow - plain & simple !

Judging by Matt and Malcolm's comments in this story about Scott's experience in Poland, maybe they should swap seats, and let Scott drive ? Given the poor level of competition, I bet Scott could get that car higher than Matt's customary 7th place, and nearer than his typical four and a half minutes or more off the winner.

TCS-

That would be a great plan except for the fact that it would ruin the 5 year plan. They'd have to start all over again.

All kidding aside it is getting all a bit much for me. In a time where the sport is suffering from not only a lack of financial and manufacturer support but also a lack of competition.

It'd not fair to the fans, the sport and financially struggling drivers to let this so-called "next wrc champ" do another stage in the WRC.

Runnah, your right. God forbid ! We've already had to endure 4 years of the famous five year plan. I think I'd give up rallying and start following curling if the 5 year plan started all over again, with Scott driving and Matt in navigator's seat calling the notes !

With the 5th year of the 5 year plan being next year, who is Malcolm going to fire Hirvonen or Latvala?
I know Latvala has had an up and down year (so far) but why fire him?
