Stupid mistake from JML but I feel sorry for the guy. I also don't see anyone better out there. Sooner or later the mistakes will go. The main thing is he has the pace. Just a pity for the constructors as well.

Wow. Poor guy seems totally gutted. The team needs to pick him up so he will have his confident next round.

It didn't cost the Ford team 8 points, but 11! Thanks to his non-finish, Sordo got two points more, Loeb one extra.

He really messed it up, but...
He made a big mistake and what? Of course he is heartbroken, everyone in the Ford camp is. But really- he is not first and won't be the last one to make such an error in one of those big moments.
Mr Wilson should kick his a'ss, but not sack him. Latvalla is to good. He is the future of this sport. That is his lesson. He will only get better and better.

Ok, it was a big choke, but so what?? And, as usual, JML was quick to give extensive comments and put the blame solely on himself. His still learning, but not like pop's son Mat. It's someting that's gonna make him even stronger.
3-4 yers ago Citroen drafted Sainz in for Duval, and what?? Poor Fransois never'd gotten back in his stride. Malcolm just nedd to give him some extra support, maybe from magic marcus, or maybe from Schumi's former indian mentor (don't remember his name).
Marcus himself had some stupid offs, like Germany04 and Australia03. I'm not even talkin about Colin and year 1996.
PS Subaru,2004. They had a poor-ol second driver in Mikko Hirvonen. Finland,04. Sacked. And? :)

I think the guy (Latvala) shouldn't be too hard on himself and should have the support of Ford, and Ford boss Malcolm Wilson. They say that if a driver doesn't crash once in every so many races/rallies - he is not trying hard enough. Also M Wilson's son also driving a Ford is not exactly setting the world alight, is he not?

Probably let his concentration levels down just too soon.A lesson well learnt for sure and part of gaining experience. Keep him going. How many times does a team let a driver down(techinians mistake)but you don't hear much then. Drivers job is in the public eye so every mistake is scrutinized.Hasn't Loeb crashed out on the last two rallies? FLASH3.

Forget this rally. Calm down. I don't know what was the worst, the accident or what he said after that. I think all drivers had "down turns". Sordo at Sardinia Rally, Petter Solberg and some "experiences", and so on. Learn from this, there are times to attack, and others to stay quiet.

I feel sad for him, happened couple of times. Maybe his bad luck is haunting him. Good luck for the next Rally, JML :)
