Oh dear, his prospects for next year don't look to rosy at the moment, shame, he's very talented and a great entertainer.

Maybe Wilson should put him on a 5 year plan...I mean look at the progress Matt Wilson's made...he's up there challenging for championship honours...oh no wait....he isn't

Latvala is totally the same as the late Colin McRae was. Blistering pace, probably the fastest guy on gravel (IMO he is faster then Loeb), but crashes at least every second rally. And that's an old story for him - he has been crashing all the time since he got into the JWRC in 2004. But maybe the crash is in his style - he is fast because he is over his limits but if you push over your limits you make mistake...

Latvala is a great driver. Yes, he makes mistakes, and big mistakes, but he is still only 24, and has great potential - more than Matt Wilson who seems to have made very little progress (is this his third or fourth season of the five year plan??). Latvala has the most important thing on his side - SPEED, which is something you can't teach a driver - he just has to learn where the limit is (remember Colin McRae and Casey Stoner's first year in MotoGP?).

Nice one Taz ! A 5 year plan, what a great idea.....

As Jimmy McRae once said about Colin, if a driver's got the raw speed, it's easy to bring him back from 110% to 100%, however, if he's only up to 90% of the required pace, it's near impossible for him to find that last 10%.

In Matt's case, he's 4 years in, and still looking for that last 50% !

while i totaly agree with the above, but can't help but wonder if wilson is looking enviously at petters recent form. after all its results this year that help set budgets for next, and in these tight times, developing talent is an expensive business. meanwhile petter's barely had an off all year, and has been on the pace (where his machienery will alow) and in an out dated car.

Wilson Jr. has a better chance of winning the championship than Petter going back to Ford. Petter burned some seriou sbridges when he left.
