Xavier Pons' future with the Subaru
World Rally Team remains uncertain in the countdown to the new season.
Pons was due to do all of the events this year with the Banbury-based outfit, having signed a deal to that affect back in the summer.
The Spaniard though did not appear on the entry list for the season opening Rallye Monte Carlo, which gets underway in a few weeks time and it still remains unclear as to whether he will climb aboard an Impreza WRC in 2008.
"An agreement for 2008 between the SWRT and Xavier Pons has not been confirmed at this time," a spokesperson for the team told
Crash.net, when asked for an update on the situation.
"This isn't to say however that an agreement will not be reached down the line. We have enjoyed a great relationship with Xevi during the last six months and we would like to see him back in a Subaru in the future."
