The Munchi's Ford World Rally Team has confirmed to Crash.net that Matti Rantanen and Mathias Thermann will link-up with regular driver, Federico Villagra on the Neste Oil Rally Finland next month.

Rantanen shone last year on the '1000 Lakes', finishing seventh in front of his home fans in his privately entered Ford Focus RS WRC and scoring two points, as well as picking up the 'Abu Dhabi Spirit of the Rally' award.

It was a great performance, especially as he was contesting the round for the first time in a WRC car - and only the fourth time in total. Indeed he ran in the points for almost all of the second day and in the end took P7 with ease, more than 2 minutes up on Toni Gardemeister, who was eight.

It is no surprise then that he has been nominated to score manufacturers' points by the Argentine outfit - along with Villagra.

Thermann meanwhile will compete in the 'third' car, as he gears up for his second outing at the top level.

He made his WRC debut on the Wales Rally GB at the end of last season, finishing 25th overall and eleventh in the Group N class in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.

Of the other manufacturer entries for the ninth round in the WRC, which runs from July 30 to August 2, there were no real surprises - although in a change to what has been the norm on recent events, Sebastien Ogier will be nominated by the Citroen Junior Team, as opposed to Conrad Rautenbach.
