Andersson, Sandell join Rally of Nations bill

Per-Gunnar Andersson and Patrik Sandell will compete for Sweden on the inaugural Rally of Nations event next weekend, being run to cover Mexico's absence from this year's World Rally Championship calendar.

Andersson and Sandell are the latest in a line of big names to commit to the event, which already includes the likes of Toni Gardemeister and Harri Rovanpera (Team Finland), Xavi Pons and Dani Sola (Team Spain), Manfred Stohl and Andreas Aigner (Team Austria) and Didier Auriol and Brice Tirabassi (Team France).

Andersson, who competed with the now defunct Suzuki World Rally Team last year and who won the Junior World Rally Championship twice, is upbeat about Team Sweden's prospects. Indeed he reckons they can go all the way and get 'gold'.

"We are going to Mexico to win," said Andersson, who has competed in the WRC just once this year, when he took in the Rally Norway. "Sandell and I will make a very strong team."

Sandell meanwhile, like Andersson, also has a good record and he too is a Junior World Rally Champion, having taken the honours in 2006.

Sandell, who is currently competing in the Production Car World Rally Championship with the Red Bull Rallye Team and who is third in the standings, is also confident they can do well.
