New home for Rally France

French motorsport federation confirms that the French round of the WRC season will move away from Corsica from 2010 onwards
The French motorsport federation has confirmed that the French round of the World Rally Championship season will move away from the island of Corsica from next season.

The FFSA held a meeting in Paris earlier this weekend to decide which area would host Rally France when it returns to the calendar in 2010, with Corsica and the Alsace region in the northeast of the country being the two possible options.

Following that meeting, the 'unanimous decision' was taken for the event to move to the Alsace region for the event, which will step up to WRC status having previously been a mainstay on the French Rally Championship calendar.

Located near the Swiss/German border, Rally Alsace should be able to draw in a larger crowd that the Corsican classic due to the increased population in the surrounding area.

and they do it again, for the money. :(

Why couldnt they just leave it alone... Corsica was an absolute classic that has been around for ever, it has unique roads, unique scenery and brilliant to watch, the WRC is not a world championship if its not spread world wide, ever more its just typical boring European events, same surface, same roads same style.
