Kiyonari beats Crutchlow for race two win

Ryuichi Kiyonari kept his cool in terrible weather conditions to claim victory in the second World Superbike race of the season at Donington Park.

The race began controversially under heavy rain, although the conditions would only be responsible for three retirements over the course of the 23 laps.

Kiyonari led from the end of the first lap to beat Cal Crutchlow, who chased his Honda counterpart to the flag, but was unable to challenge for the lead. Troy Corser completed the podium after Troy Bayliss tumbled into retirement after sliding off under Starkey's Bridge.

James Ellison finished a superb fourth after recovering from an earlier off to produce a series of fastest laps, although he was lucky to inherit the place off Leon Haslam, who was comfortable in the position when he fell during another late shower.
