It is a sentiment shared by Althea director Genesio Bevilacqua, who is confident Hill will perform, despite his lack of miles this year.
“We are really happy to have Tommy join us next year in World Superbike Championship. Hill is a strong and aggressive rider, full of enthusiasm and with a passion for racing. Together we will take on this new challenge and we firmly believe he will quickly grow and maybe surprise a few people next year.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that Rolfo will not return to the team in 2009. The Italian has been linked to a switch to Aprilia having been testing for the team in recent weeks.
“Unfortunately, this year we could not fully appreciate his racing performance, but from the very start of our co-operation our target was to get him in Superbike for his bravery and enthusiasm. I would also like to thank Roberto Rolfo for his professionalism during this difficult year, which was below our expectations. We wish him all the best for the future."
