Rea quickest in damp warm-up

Jonathan Rea moved to the top of the timesheets in morning warm-up ahead of today's final World Superbike races of the season in Portugal as rain continued to afflict proceedings.

Having washed out qualifying yesterday, wet conditions and cool temperatures meant laps were kept to a relative minimum as the riders got one final chance to fettle their wet set-up ahead of what could be a tricky day of racing.

Rea was quickest though, the debutant maintaining his stellar form to be a comfortable six tenths quicker than second place Troy Corser.

Brits continued to be well represented at the front of the field, with Cal Crutchlow and Leon Haslam posting the third and fourth best times, while reputed 'rain-master' Chris Walker was even sixth quickest behind pole sitter Troy Bayliss.

Noriyuki Haga improved to seventh, ahead of Regis Laconi, while Gregorio Lavilla made his first top ten appearance of the weekend in ninth. Ryuichi Kiyonari was tenth quickest.
