Your entitled to your opinion Murdok but Biaggi is getting on in years and his options are limited. Time will tell

WSBK » Biaggi to GSE?

Speculation is rife regarding Max Biaggi and where he will be racing in 2008, after the four times 250cc world champion left Alstare Suzuki with, it seemed, nowhere to go.

Great stuff, bring it on. If this all pans out right it's looking like a great 2008 season for WSBK. Six 1098's on the grid and hopefully Camier getting a berth next to him!
I just hope the Dukes don't p-off into the distance and that the 1000's will be able to keep up.
Nori can continue his battle with him although i wonder if he is racing for "nothing" as he previously said he would do if given the chance to ride the Duke?

In any case this sounds great if it comes off as i get my pantomime villain back ;)

The always-reliable, sober-minded British motorcycle press reporting on information from "reliable Italian sources."

I'll believe it when Biaggi is sitting on the bike at Losail! :D

A Camel Ducati perhaps? Camier is used to riding in yellow, and Biaggi always has the hump, so there is a certain logic to this!
I would have thought though that if GSE do go to WSB, they would want to take Lavilla.
As DD says, I'll believe it when I see it!

Tis fair to be sceptical but i don't care, there's very little racing so i have to take what i can :)
WSBK desperately needs at least one Brit on the big bikes so i really hope someone who seems to have quality running through him will get the chance...and by that i obviously mean Camier.
Go Nori!

If its true that GSE are heading off to WSB - why did they throw their toys out of the pram at the the end of the BSB season - when they could have simply said they were moving up to WSB and left BSB on good terms.

As Trigg says - where is Lavilla in all of this ? He's happy with GSE, wants to do WSB and when on form and in the mood - is very difficult to beat - seems like an obvious choice to me :)

Biaggi only officially left Suzuki after GSE had said they were quiting racing, hence the u-turn. No Biaggi = no european sponsors (or extra money from FGSport/Ducati) = no WSBK. That's the way I see it.

Makes sense for Max, GSE and WSBK. Also be good for Ducati as Biaggi still has a big Italian fan base, but you can't help but worry that Max will soon be saying Bayliss has a better bike etc.......

Nevertheless, would be pointless for Biaggi to go back to MotoGP - he ain't going to be a MotoGP world champion, but he might very well become a WSBK champion...

I think the six factory 1198 superbikes are displayed as follows:
- 2 within the Ducati Corse factory team, for Bayliss and Fabrizio,
- 1 within the GMB Sterilgarda team, for Xaus,
- 1 within the RG Team, for Lanzi,
- 2 within the GSE team, for Biaggi and one Leon...

GMB and RG will also field 1098s in the Superstock C'ship, Polita being already signed by Borciani for Team GMB, and another young Italian rider being expected at RG.

We'll see if the 20% capacity bonus granted to Ducati was really needed...

Wasn't he already in talks with PSG? The last i heard was that he was fed up with waiting for a decision and wasn't going to leave himself without a ride or a reasonable option for 2008.

It's just a bull****,because Biaggi will never accept to ride a secondary moto in Superbike
