A huge tragedy, a terrible loss & unreserved sympathy to those close.

I wish the reports would drop the constant references to Andrew Pitt hitting Craig 'tho.

Craig died of head & neck injuries. The lad hit his head on the track at a weird angle with immense force. It was almost like a 'curled around highside' that threw him downward instead of up. Very odd, very unexpected. Not something he'd have been able to predict or do anything about. The only glimmer of hope - it was *so* fast he really would not have known anything about it or felt more than the bike going from under him.

Pitt hit Craig's thigh & maybe his body. It made no material difference - except it probably gutted Pitt.

what a racer ironicly this was the first supersport race id have ever watched but the thing that stood out from the start was the way craig battaled at every corner at every second even when it started to rain he still gave 100% when others backed off that to me showed great courage and skill and extreme brevery he was destined for great things he will be sorely missed my thoughts are with his family at this difficult time and reading his fathers words it was clear he died doinf what he loved r.i.p craig jones a real legend

The haunting image of that terrible crash will live with all who love motorcycle racing for eternity. A great talent and a wonderful person was lost in a moment, but he will live on in the hearts of us all. I hope that Craig's family and girlfriend can gain strength from everyone who admired him so much. My thoughts also to Andrew who I'm sure will be devastated, he must continue though that's what these heroes do and they are all heroes to me. Love to you all.

Only this season have I been keeping a closer eye on WSS and, in particular, Craig Jones. I still cannot believe that such a great young talent has been taken from us in such a terrible accident. It still brings tears to my eyes to read the messages here and elsewhere. I cannot imagine what his family and girlfriend are going through, my thoughts are with them at this time. God bless all and RIP Craig.

I lost my son at 22 years old last year to a motorcycle accident. I know exactly how Craig''s parents feel. I taught Rory to ride at 8 years old. He also lived and breathed bikes.
My thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved Craig.

A very sad loss.

I was at the back end of the GP circuit on Sunday and was completely unaware of the severity of the accident.

I would like to hope that a memorial ride-out is organised, possibly ending at Brands Hatch with a parade lap.

I think it would be very fitting, and I'm sure tens of thoudands would support it.

RIP Craig.

I've always followed Craig's career from the earliest days, what with him coming from the same part of the world as me.
What impressed me was the way he came back from his big Oulton Park crash many years ago (he was 16 at the time of that accident) i think this would have taken the edge of many a racers competitiveness, but not Craig, it seems it made him more determined to suceed.
I knew he was good years ago and being at the front of the WSS races proved this, i was really looking forward to him having a brilliant career and have the true potential to be a world champion of some standing, now that dream will not become a reality and we must mourn the loss of a gifted young rider. RIP.

I don't think there is a racer or rider (like me) who isn't shaken by this incident. How easily his life was lost. The comments reported from his family are very touching. My sympathies go to them all. I hope they take comfort from the fact that he didn't suffer and he died doing what he loved in front of millions of admiring fans. Not many of us mere mortals can wish to go like that.

My thoughts go to his family and especially his mum.
