I think he will remain a benchmark for wsbk riders for a long time! great to see him win and retire at the top, still a shame to see him go!

Bayliss was a fantastic rider and will be missed. Pitty he's going to race those stupid V8 motor cars.

Take nothing away from Troy, he is a great champion and well liked.
However, world and domestic superbike series have always favoured the
Italian marque when it comes to twins v fours.
The only notable comparison in my view is that last ride on a MotoGP
Ducati and a 998.

Was told by someone in the factory that Bayliss demanded that if he won a third title, Ducati remove the big mural of 'that *****r Foggy' from the inside wall of the factory, and replace it with one of himself.
He he - hope they do.

If anything Bayliss raced in the most equal era of SBK

From 2000 to 2002, yes the 1000cc twins had an advantage over the 750cc fours but Colin Edwards, his main opponent was also racing a twin.

Then it was 1000cc vs 1000cc when he returned in 2006 and won his 2nd title

And this season, all fours won multiple races, Haga has won as much as Bayliss, but it was Bayliss great consistency that gave him the title
