Bout time they announced this , Haga will be a hit the italians love him anyway and now that he is riding a duke it is a match made in heaven. I just hope for his sake he can start the season better than he normally does then he will definately be in with a chance for the championship, ive got no worries about nori not being able to ride the duke as haga is one of those riders that could ride any bike and ride it well.
Good luck Nori for 2009 .... i cant wait !

Bayliss said the following interesting facts regarding Haga on a Xerox Ducati at superbikeplanet.com:"the Yamahas have really come along in leaps and bounds over the last few months. Their system that they've got - it's Magneti Marelli, it's the same as ours, but they've got some new bits and pieces to their suspension, and it just looks like it's working unreal. It'll be interesting to see. He might have to change the bike a bit, because I know the way I have my bike, he wouldn't ride it like that, because it's much more physical to ride, and he tends to have a bit more of a direct sort of setting. It'll be interesting."

cem, I understand you about "my pedantic side", this forum is quite effective in bringing out the worst of us sometimes, it is actually the most "aggressive" forum I've ever seen. Shame that it is not more technical minded, and too much "passionate" about each persons idols.....
As to Bayliss and his training/fitness, well I think he feels stronger (mentally)if he is strong physically, well based on reading through his diary all these years. Bayliss also need to be fit more than other perhaps due to his riding style! He moves a lot and uses the body all the time to make the bike do things, and he seems to like bikes that need to be tamed... :)

Mononuke - you may be right - Colin Edwards once said that if he finished second for Yamaha in world supers they said "well done" but when he switched to Honda, if he finished second they said "what went wrong?"

Chiara is lovely (if thats the Italian lass with the mousey hair), she made me an espresso when i arrived at Magny Cours last year after a 500 mile bike trip.
BTW i've got pic's of me with Nori's kids at Brands, my mate Kazuki brought them over to us for the races, they are little demons/angels depending on their mood lol, me and Kaz had the little one by the hands and walking along with him doing somersault flips. The little one also nicked my airhorn at Magny Cours and blew it all through the press conference at the end of race 2 lol...thankfully Yuri was able to get it back off him for me!

@ Cubik Rube

yes, i always see Chiara Pozzi holding & playing with Nori's kids & it indeed looks like a genial, family type atmosphere in the Yamaha Italia paddock. Perhaps, what Nori needs now is less of that & more of stricter, business first approach one associates with Tardozzi & the factory Ducati team to finally give him the edge he needs to win his first world title.

I do know for a fact that Haga smokes just like his compatriot Yukio. He should give up the fags, if he wants to improve his cardio conditioning. Haven't been aware of any other riders in supers that smoke? certainly not fitness freaks like Bayliss & Corser.

Haga interviewed during this summer (before Ducati reports) by the french magazine "Sport bikes" said about his Yamaha:

"Last year we had lots of problems with the bike. this year the bike has not greatly advanced and we still have lots of probs" And of Quote.

1.I believe him just because he's not a weeper

2.His teammate Corser (very fast indeed) still no win with R1 (Haga 13 last 2 years )
thats shows some probs maybe?

3.Haga has the record since five years with 32 race best laps.Hope next year will be on the same way:)

He's one of the best riders and i think maybe he deserved to be in motogp if he was more consistent and a regular rider...this guy is fukkin' fast ... when he wants

... - at Magny-Cours JT was forced off-track in the first race. He, Haga and Biaggi beaten Bayliss because they were mentally better - Donington, Bayliss lost his little finger... The Duce was on the pace, just looking on the wins. The best bike in that year was Suzuki, not the winner Honda, which had sometimes gone down (donington, monza). Checa once said that the Honda was developped to JT, because he wondered how JT could have win the World Title on that terrible bike. This year the most controversial thing is that Bayliss put more than 100% since the first race of Losail while the others forgot to wake up from winter dream until Valencia.

It's ridiculous to wondering on whether Haga is fit or not. When he didn't crashed this year, he was faster than Corser, who doesn't look to be under-muscled. The only problem is with him is his inconsistency. He is fast in a race, but throws away the next. Like Assen - crash/2nd, Brands - crash/2nd, Donington - instead of retiring with the blown R1, he washed up the track with oil..., USA - crashing/6th with broken collarbone. Just like in the past years - 2006 crash @ Losail in the last lap while overtaking / 3th, 2007 misano crash/2nd.
Last year Toseland won because he was mentally better than any other people. The 2 point -margin doesn't show the real difference...

Every round Nori goes to he jogs round the track (he has the most hideous cycling shorts that he runs in that can be seen in his pics on NKI41.com lol). He also cycles regularly as well as well as having a complete fitness regime

So to sum up lol, fitness used to be an issue but it is not anymore.

I hope Toshi stays with him as he is a decent man and does a lot for Nori. My biggest surprise is that he has left what i considered to be almost a family atmosphere within the Motor Italia camp, the way they are with his kids is amazing.

Oh and the R1 is sposed to be the most trick bike on the grid, sensors hanging out of every orifice (again heard Whitam talking bout it) :)
